We opened the April 25 version of the Tommy London $5 Rock Show at Arlene’s Grocery, which was our second time playing at Arlene’s and for Tommy’s shows, which are always excellent.  This time the other bands were Toasted, Black Night Revival, and Mule Kick – the cover band that Guns N Roses drummer Frank Ferrer plays in when he’s not touring with GnR. As they are about to go out for their summer tour, this was Frank’s last show in New York for a while, and I think it’s a testament to what a great rock scene we have in New York that one of Los Angeles’ greatest-ever bands has a New York drummer. Frank was kind enough to get there in time to see us, and after the show he talked to Russ about our performance. We wish him the best on the Guns tour this summer, and hope to see him out there somewhere! As for OP79, we marked the occasion with the debut performance of “Persona Non Grata”, which had been kicking around in Rob’s head for maybe a year. It finally saw the light of day at Arlene’s!
